Several Completed Projects: Dolphin, Mother and Daughter, Bendy Card, and Altered Harley Altoid Tin.

Hello I have been real busy with health issues, craft projects for online swaps and clients, and preparing for craft shows. I will fill you in on my health issues in another posting along with items I am making for the upcoming craft shows.  Here is my latest work from May 2015 to July 2015. Click on any of the photos below and you may be able to see them in larger photos.  Enjoy viewing my work.

Paper Mache - Graduation Dolphin
A co-worker at work wanted a dolphin for a family member who was graduating with a Biology degree. It took over 8 hours to create this dolphin. I used the brown paper that comes in the boxes that is used for packing merchandise for shipping. We get tons of boxes with this brown paper and it just get thrown away. I re-use it for craft projects.  I used the acrylic paints to paint the dolphin after I paper mached the dolphin together with modge podge.  For the rolled up graduate degree that the dolphin is holding I used some of  a manila file folder.  June 2015

Mother and Daughter Recycled Paper Dolls
A co-worker wanted me to create a doll made from rolled up newspaper and advertisements from the newspapers. The request was to create a mother and daughter with black hair (for an African American Theme) and then I added a rose with a butterfly. The the new owner plans on adding gold hoop earrings to the two dolls. This took over 10 hours to create. I got the inspiration from these dolls online that I think are really beautiful which helped me with ideas.

Bendy Card: Birthday
I participated in a swap in a facebook group. I made this simple birthday card card. Here is a tutorial on how to make bendy cards. I would never send them in the mail since they would get squashed so easily.

Altered Altoid Tin: Harley Davidson Theme
The person who I saw swapping with through facebook is a fan of  Harley Davidson. I took the photos of her and Bad Ass Biker quote photo that came from her facebook page to decorate the tin.  I also created a Harley Davidson Store inside the tin. It took 2 or 3 hours to create. June 2015

Quilling and Zentangle 3d Purple Doll

The 3d doll took me 11 hours to create her. I started first with the skirt and zentangled with a Bic purple pen and created the pattern from ideas online. I sketched it out first in pencil then erased the pencil marks and went over it in pen. The zentangle part took three hours just for the Bic pen part. Then I built the body around the skirt. The arms took the longest and struggled with them. I never add faces to the dolls because I am afraid I will mess it up and have to start it over. Quilling paper was used for the body. I used manila file folders and shredded my own strips for the skin tone. I had feathers at home so I cut some pieces off and added to the hat. The doll was finished on July 30, 2013.

Quilled guitar

I finally stopped procrastinating and followed through with a clients project she asked me to do a month ago. I used quilling paper to create a guitar. It is a 8 by 10 frame and fits the frame. It took 4 hours to create. Created 9/4/16

The second image is is what inspired me to create the guitar with the tulips. It is not my design it is a vector I found on the web.  I liked it and it helped motivate me to create.
