Latest zentangles for month of July & August 2013

While I sit at work half an hour before I am due to be there or at breaks and meal times and during the hour I am waiting for TABE test students to take their tests at work. I sit and be creative. Sometimes I go through other zentangle sites to get ideas what to doodle. I do part of the template in pencil first before deciding to change it over to pen. I use bic or gel pens depending on my mood. I find it very relaxing and usually get lost in time.  Below each picture is where you can find the template online and print it off for yourself.
The above picture is the Zentangle dare #65 and the template can be found on this site

Quilling or paper filigree is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper is wound around a quilling tool to create a basic coil shape. The paper is then glued at the tip and these shaped coils are arranged to form flowers, leaves, and various ornamental patterns similar to ironwork.

Children age 12 and older, teens and adults are welcome to attend. If your a beginner or at a higher level I can provide teaching and have the time to work on projects that are simple or that can challenge you.

Quilling and Zentangle 3d Purple Doll

The 3d doll took me 11 hours to create her. I started first with the skirt and zentangled with a Bic purple pen and created the pattern from ideas online. I sketched it out first in pencil then erased the pencil marks and went over it in pen. The zentangle part took three hours just for the Bic pen part. Then I built the body around the skirt. The arms took the longest and struggled with them. I never add faces to the dolls because I am afraid I will mess it up and have to start it over. Quilling paper was used for the body. I used manila file folders and shredded my own strips for the skin tone. I had feathers at home so I cut some pieces off and added to the hat. The doll was finished on July 30, 2013.

Quilled guitar

I finally stopped procrastinating and followed through with a clients project she asked me to do a month ago. I used quilling paper to create a guitar. It is a 8 by 10 frame and fits the frame. It took 4 hours to create. Created 9/4/16

The second image is is what inspired me to create the guitar with the tulips. It is not my design it is a vector I found on the web.  I liked it and it helped motivate me to create.
