Snowflakes or Valentines
Depending who comes to this class will depend on what we make. I have a few people who did not take my snowflake class and they want to make snowflakes. This will be the class to learn the snowflakes. If there is someone who comes who wants the valentines I try to create something simple for valentine related. I will post photos soon on what we will be making.  But here are the snowflake pictures.

I will bring the paper punch for the heart border. I left the side of the card or picture open along the border so you create a message and slide something into the pocket or can glue that close if you
do not want it open. I was inspired from other quilling artists on the web and both quilling pieces are ideas from other artists. I created the above cards and wrote directions down and I am ready to teach a class and walk the class through either card. Both cards take almost an hour or 1.5 hours to make.
Where I found the original heart dandelion this website and thank you for the inspiration.

  1. I really like your Valentine's Day Heart Card. It's really lovely. I've created a website on quilling patterns it would be great if you could have a look and maybe add some your thoughts. Any feedback is much appreciated.

Quilling or paper filigree is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper is wound around a quilling tool to create a basic coil shape. The paper is then glued at the tip and these shaped coils are arranged to form flowers, leaves, and various ornamental patterns similar to ironwork.

Children age 12 and older, teens and adults are welcome to attend. If your a beginner or at a higher level I can provide teaching and have the time to work on projects that are simple or that can challenge you.

PLEASE RSVP and there is a $5.00 reservation fee to sign up to reserve your seat.  You can call, email (staceysmile@gmail dot com), or stop by the store to reserve …

Quilling and Zentangle 3d Purple Doll

The 3d doll took me 11 hours to create her. I started first with the skirt and zentangled with a Bic purple pen and created the pattern from ideas online. I sketched it out first in pencil then erased the pencil marks and went over it in pen. The zentangle part took three hours just for the Bic pen part. Then I built the body around the skirt. The arms took the longest and struggled with them. I never add faces to the dolls because I am afraid I will mess it up and have to start it over. Quilling paper was used for the body. I used manila file folders and shredded my own strips for the skin tone. I had feathers at home so I cut some pieces off and added to the hat. The doll was finished on July 30, 2013.

Quilled guitar

I finally stopped procrastinating and followed through with a clients project she asked me to do a month ago. I used quilling paper to create a guitar. It is a 8 by 10 frame and fits the frame. It took 4 hours to create. Created 9/4/16

The second image is is what inspired me to create the guitar with the tulips. It is not my design it is a vector I found on the web.  I liked it and it helped motivate me to create.
