Craft workshop to decorate the Christmas tree at work. December 12- 16, 2011 is the week several co-workers and I will be coming together to create ornaments out of toilet paper rolls, wrapping paper rolls, and paper towel rolls to cover one of the Christmas trees in front of the staff lounge. The color theme is silver, royal blue and white. A co-worker and I will be painting the ornaments ahead of time. One or two days during the week the group of three ladies and I will meet and I will teach them some basic quilling techniques to create these ornaments. I will try to post pictures of the ornaments and the tree dressed in these ornaments once we get this accomplished.
On November 25-27, 2011 I was one of the vendors at the Albany
Institute of Art and History Museum. I sold a lot of items and met a lot of the
public and made lots of new customers and fans. I am so thankful I joined the
Gift Fair and Family Festival for those three days. I have had a few people write
requests for more items to be made and I am thankful and appreciate your
comments and suggestions. I do work a job full time so I make my crafts when I
am not at work or at lunch or breaks at work. I might be making things on the
side for a customers or might see me at a future craft show or on Etsy.com in

Click on the photo of the chicken you may see it in larger scale. I donated this piece of art to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. On October 6 at 5:30pm at the Arts Center of the Capital Region on River Street in Troy NY this piece along with other art pieces from other artists will be displayed at Art Saves Animals silent auction and cocktail reception. The admission fee to this event for non-contributing artists is $40 and people who have contributed by giving art work to participate in the auction pay $20. By attending the event and possibly buying another artists work you are funding to help the more than 6,000 animals who are provided shelter, care and adoption through out the year. www.mohawkhumane.org
Click on picture above to see much larger photo. I made a picture collage of the set-up and what I was selling at the Biz Expo September 17 & 18, 2011. It was my first show. The 12x12 snowflakes and the yellow rose on the left side of the photo are made from recycled manila folders. The snowflakes were spray painted purple or white.
The postcard is an invitation I made to give out to people around the area. I doubt it is readable so I will type out what is written on the postcard. I will be participating in the Biz Expo. This is my first time I will be showing and selling my quilling paper crafts to the public. I am asking you to bring your family and friends and tell everyone you know. I will be sharing a table with my roommate's business called Counseling Sense.
